Amazon Pay Integration Discontinuing (2025)
Amazon Pay Checkout v2 will be new standard by November 30th, 2024 and Amazon will end all support of Checkout v1 by March 31, 2025. ProductCart currently uses Checkout v1 for the Amazon Payments gateway but will not upgrade to Checkout v2.
Legacy Amazon Pay Checkout v1 Reaches End of Life
Amazon has announced that the their current integration "Checkout v1" is legacy and reaching end of life on March 25, 2025. ProductCart will not be upgrading to the next version "Checkout v2" and recommends using one of the already fully supported payment gateways like Authorize, PayPal Commerce Platform, or Stripe, all of which offer the same or similar services that Amazon Pay Checkout v2 offers.
Can Amazon Checkout v1 Work on ProductCart?
Clients with Amazon Merchant accounts established prior to May 17, 2024 may continue to use and stay connected to Amazon Pay Checkout v1 technology on ProductCart until it reaches end of life in March of 2025. However, ProductCart cannot guarantee error-free service during the "phase out" of Checkout V1, which Amazon has scheduled to begin on December 1st, 2024. As the risk of potential issues with customers and Amazon Pay at checkout will be "High" during the Checkout V1 "phase out" period, we encourage ProductCart merchants to convert to one of our supported payment gateways in advance of December 1, 2024.
Will ProductCart Eventually Integrate with Amazon Checkout v2?
ProductCart has no plans to implement Amazon Checkout v2 as a supported gateway. On March 31st, 2025, Amazon Payments gateway will stop working completely as the Checkout v1 reaches end of life and will not be replaced by Checkout v2 on ProductCart, effectively ending ProductCart's support of Amazon Pay as a supported payment gateway.
