Configurator Feature Limitations
- Cross-selling
Any cross selling settings set for a Standard Product are not shown on the configuration page (configurePrd.asp) when that product is assigned to the Configurable Product. This includes bundling and required accessories. In addition, cross selling products are NOT shown on the product details page (viewPrd.asp) unless the Add-to-Cart button is shown. In other words, if the product must be configured (including Additional Charges) before it can be purchased, cross selling products are not shown.
- Custom Search Fields
Any custom search fields assigned to a Standard Product are not shown on the configuration page when that product is assigned to the Configurable Product. They are also not taken into account to locate the Configurable Product in a search. For example, if a Standard Product has “Made In > USA” as a Custom Search Field, that Configurable Product will not come up in a search for everything that is “Made In > USA”.
- Custom Input Fields
Any custom input fields set for a Standard Product are not shown on the configuration page when that product is assigned to the Configurable Product. Custom input fields assigned to the Configurable Product itself are shown.
- Product Options (Supported if Apparel Add-on is used)
Product options assigned to a Standard Product are not shown on the configuration page when that product is assigned to the Configurable Product. An exception to this is a scenario in which the store is using the Apparel Add-on and the product being assigned to the Configurable Product is an Apparel product. In that case a “Choose Options” link is shown and the store visitor will be able to view and select product options in a pop-up window.
