ProductCart 5 features new functionality to help you more easily organize and display categories and products on your website. Drag and Drop Reordering lets you adjust the default display order of categories, products and a number of other important site elements through a simple, visual interface.
Content Pages - Content Pages can be reordered from the "Manage Content Pages" list view. Note that with Content Pages, the display order is only updated if you select the pages affected by the reordering (by clicking the checkbox next to the ordering number) and then click "Update Selected" at the bottom of the "Manage Content Pages" list view.
Featured Products - Featured Products can be reordered from the "Featured Products" list view.
How It Works
In list views where the ordering function is available (see below), simply place your cursor over the row containing the product, category or other element you want to move. Drag and drop reordering is active when the cursor tool tip changes from a single arrow to a multi-directional arrow. Click and hold on the element you want to move, drag it to the position you want in the ordered list and drop it into position by releasing the mouse button. IMPORTANT: To save the reordered list, click on the "Update Order" button at the bottom of the display. If you do not click on the Update Order button, no changes will be made.Where It's Available
A number of important site element lists can be reordered through Drag and Drop. These include:Home Page Slide Show - Order of appearance for graphics in the slide show can be reordered from the "Manage Slideshow Settings" admin page.
Categories and Sub-Categories - Categories can be reordered on the "View & Edit Categories" admin page. To access the "Order Categories" function, click on the "Reorder" link that appears above the listing of categories. Sub-Categories can be reordered by clicking on the "Reorder" link associated with their parent category in the "View & Edit Categories" listing.
Products - Products can be reordered by clicking on the "Products" link for any category or sub-category in the "View & Edit Categories" listing.
