How to Set Up Merchant Negotiated Rates in UPS Online Tools

Setting Up UPS Negotiated Rates in ProductCart


If you have negotiated rates on your UPS shipping account, here's how to access those rates through the shipping interface in ProductCart.

Negotiated Rates are returned if the UPS account number with negotiated rates  is associated with the UPS user ID in ProductCart and authenticated. 

Follow these steps to add the account number on UPS.com.
 
1. Log into ups.com.

2. Click the user initial icon (circle) in the top right corner of the banner.

3. Select Accounts and Payment.

4. Select Add Existing Account from the Add a Payment Method menu.

5. Click Add.

6. Select the account type.

7. Complete the required fields:
•    Account Number
•    Nickname
•    Country
•    Postal Code for Pickup Address

8. Click Next.

9. Select one of the following:
•    Invoice Data Verification - When invoice information is available
•    Pin Verification -  If you do not have an invoice, or would prefer to verify the account by PIN, select PIN Verification. 

10. Click Next.

11. If there is an invoice on file, complete the Invoice fields and click Save.
•    Invoice number - as it is listed on the invoice
•    Invoice Date - Enter in mm/dd/yyyy format as listed on the invoice 
o    Domestic invoice must be one of the last 3 invoices and received within last 90 days, or 45 days for International.
•    Amount due - Enter the Charges Due this period from the invoice 
o    Do not include a comma, dollar sign, or other currency designation besides a period.
•    Control ID 
o    This is required when it is present on the invoice and is case sensitive.

12. If there is no invoice on file or the last three invoices have a zero balance due, you will be unable to proceed. Click the Back button.

13. You will be returned to the Add an Existing Account screen.

14. Complete the required fields:
•    Account Number
•    Nickname
•    Country
•    Postal Code for Pickup Address

15. Click Next.

16. Select Pin Verification and click Next.

17. Select I need to request a PIN.

18. Enter the email associated with the account.
•    For accounts opened online or by phone, this will be the email of the person who opened the account.
•    If the customer is unsure of the email address, refer them to the person who manages their account.

19. Click Next.
If you see the following error, "Sorry, we're unable to process the request", continue to the next section.

20. Go to your email account and look for an email from UPS Comm-Account Confirm.
•    If the email address you entered does not belong to you, contact the account owner and request the PIN.

21. Copy the PIN from the email.

22. Enter the PIN on the Account Verification Method screen.

23. Click Next.

24. Re-enter your ups.com password.
Password Requirements:
•    1-26 Characters long
•    Must Contain 3 of the following types 
o    One lower case letter
o    One upper case letter
o    One number
o    One Special Character (!@#$%*)

25. Click Submit. You will be returned to the Accounts and Payments Options page.
